15 Gauteng learners died since 2020 academic year started - Panyaza Lesufi

A total of 15 learners in Gauteng have lost their lives in separate incidences ranging from murder, drowning and motor vehicle accidents since the 2020 academic year started just over a month ago. The Gauteng MEC of Education has described the spate of deaths as a "bad spell" and says it is extremely difficult to face parents of deceased learners on almost a weekly basis.
