Significant flooding is ongoing the Coosa River as Lake Logan Martin flood gates are wide open into the Coosa River dumping into Lay Lake. Numerous creeks are already swollen due to several days worth of rain. Tallaseehatchee Creek and Talladega Creek are two that are causing issues in the Childersburg community. Some homes are cut off from the free world due to the new river in their property. Numerous animals were also being pushed up on dry land due to the swelling river basin. The flood gates are expected to remain open for the next day or so at least.
