Is This the Most Unique School in the World? | The World School | Schooling Humans

The World School is a travelling, nature, democratic school that has recently started operations in January 2020 for students of all ages. This school features a unique element of changing locations every three months. They started in Dominican Republic, will move to Spain, then onto Bali to finish out the year.

Primarily appealing to full-time travelling families, The World School provides an option for parents who typically homeschool their children, by giving them a community to join on the road of like-minded families seeking an alternative form of education.

They also incorporate democratic and forest school philosophies that put the children at the centre of their learning. The curriculum is student directed, following the interests and curiosities of the students. The teachers guide them by asking probing questions, getting them to think more deeply of their discoveries and connecting their learning to broader topics. The afternoons provide a chance at a school facility to delve into the topics and questions uncovered from the morning outdoor space.
