The last Sunday of each month (with the exception of the contest first round officially starting on March 1, 2020) during the Live Stream, a steel type will be chosen for a sharpness contest. This is a great opportunity to test your ability to sharpen a knife! A steel will be chosen using a Wheel of Steel (you'll see it in this video), and when a steel is chosen , it will be removed and replaced by another steel type, so as not to repeat steels. Contestants must submit a knife in the determined steel type before the next live stream, on the last Sunday of the month, to qualify. Sharpness will be tested during the live stream on camera. Entry fees can be submitted via PayPal, or in the package with the knife in the form of cash or money order.

Winners will receive a prize valued at no less than $50 USD. The winner of the each month's contest will get their name, blade steel, and sharpness measurement put on the sharpness tester for the world to see! All contestants will be entered into a random drawing for an additional prize. All knives will be promptly shipped back to their owner within 3 days of the results video. Prizes will be shipped back with the winner's knife. This contest is open to persons outside of the USA, but if shipping costs are higher than $10, please reach out prior to shipping so we can work out any return shipping additional cost.
Key rules and information as follows:
-An entry fee of $20 is required to cover return shipping & consumables. Any additional funds will go towards prizes.
-A Google spreadsheet will be kept for recording purposes. We will make this available for review.
-All contestants will be entered into random drawing for a prize, in addition to the prize given to the overall sharpest knife.
-Only knives in the correct steel will be accepted. If the knife received is incorrect in blade steel, the knife will simply be returned to you.
-No swords, kitchen knives, or machetes will be accepted.
- In the event of a Tie, there will be a "Sharp Off" checking the sharpness in multiple points along the cutting edge. The blade with the lowest average score Win's!!!
-Contestants are only allowed to win once every 4 months. If you have won within this time frame and continue to submit knives, you will be eligible for the random drawing prize. Additionally, your results will be included in the Google spreadsheet.
Remember, this is for fun as well as an opportunity to win some great prizes! You also get to see how your sharpening skills match up with other knife nerds!!!
