Today we saw a historical drop in the stock market which may be later seen as a stock market crash on March 9th, 2020 in which my Robinhood investing portfolio is currently down over 4.88% ($2,932). My all time chart represents a total loss of 4.12% ($2,450). Although this is certainly a negative situation and a detrimental market event, it is one of the best times ever for new investors to jump into the mix, buy the huge dip, and start investing at one of the most preferred market points to begin at. By beginning investing at this point, new investors are getting shares of various stocks on sale, especially solid stocks such as VOO (an ETF that mirrors the Vanguard S&P 500 Index), AAPL (Apple) Microsoft (MSFT), and others such as Tesla (TSLA). All of these stocks aside from Tesla also come with dividends which are a quarterly payment that you will receive as a reward or “thank you” for holding shares of that company.
Therefore by starting investing at this huge crash/drop point in the market, you will be getting shares at an excellent price, almost like a Black Friday deal for stocks, and will be able to create a nice passive income for the rest of your life if you choose a quality stock to hold long-term such as VOO or Microsoft. This is also great for those that are interested in Dividend Investing. I just wanted to create this video because this is the perfect time for those that are thinking about getting into the market but are fearful about a bear market and other surrounding events. Gauging your market risk-tolerance is important and this is the perspective of someone with a very high risk tolerance, yet I think it is the most intelligent financial decision that could be made with the stock market currently.
