Building competencies of youth is one of the aims of UNESCO’s Strategic Transformation

Building competencies of youth is one of the aims of UNESCO’s Strategic Transformation Interview with Salah Khaled, Director of UNESCO Multisectoral Regional Office (Central Africa), Yaoundé, Cameroon.

In ten years I would see UNESCO as a real leader in the education sector, taking this sector to the forefront through this fourth industrialized revolution.
I would see more inter-sectorial work strengthened, the silos between the sectors broken, more cooperation working as one UNESCO and go back to what UNESCO used to be as a respected and valorized organization in the field.
We have to work on the macro and policy level but also on the ground with the people, with the teachers, we have to make the real impact on the ground.
There is a lot of great work being done by UNESCO now, we have to tell the story, what impact have we done.
This is what I hope I could see in ten years, showing the real impact of all the good work that UNESCO and its staff are doing on the ground.
