Virtual Insanity - technology in the classroom What are the advantages and disadvantages of using technology in foundation phase classrooms across South Africa, and more specifically, in the Eastern Cape? Education stakeholders in Makhanda discuss the impact of technology and ask if Ipads/tablets will contribute to solving the education crisis.How realistic is a rollout of tablets costing a few thousand rand each if textbooks cannot even be delivered efficiently? Many schools across the country, particularly the elite private schools, already incorporate the use of technologies in their classrooms and report positive results. This video canvasses the reasons for and against the provision of these technologies in foundation phase classrooms in Makhanda.
